Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Auto Body Paint Prep/Trainee position will assist the Auto Body Painter with preparing vehicles, work stations, and paint booths to refinish, prime, sand and buff auto body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards. Coordinates work with other team members.

• Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
• Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
• Mixes paint according to specifications. Tints color for proper match.
• Produces test panels when needed to obtain industry acceptable color match.
• Paints surface using sprayer or brush as appropriate and directed.
• Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags and unpainted areas.

Qualifications:

• Experience with auto detailing process
• Experience buffing and polishing
• Experience with wet sanding, prepping, and masking
• Knowledge of the auto paint/Recon process
• Knowledge of used cars Recon/Make Ready process is a plus
• Capability to multitask
• Capability to self-manage with daily task
• Any other automotive collision experience is a plus
