    Job Description:

    Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods and services. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards. Follows up on all awards through completion of order. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Follows applicable anti-corruption ethics, laws, and regulations.

    Essen Essential Functions:

    • Candidate must be willing to be on call, work over-time, weekends, and odd shifts, as the program support requires.

    • Sources, negotiates, and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.

    • Reviews proposals, negotiates pricing and terms and conditions, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up with orders placed, verifies delivery schedules, approves payments, and maintains necessary records. May also prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.

    • Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Evaluates bids and selects suppliers based on price, delivery, quality, and service to obtain best overall value for L3Harris. Monitors performance of suppliers. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.

    • Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions. Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.

    • This position requires close, professional & courteous daily interface with internal and external customers and all levels of leadership. Applicant must have excellent communication skills and a thorough understanding of cross-functional interactions as they relate to Depot activities. Strong organizational skills, prioritizing, and the ability to multi-task and interact with several individuals at one is a must.

    • Candidate must be willing to be on call, work over-time, weekends, and odd shifts, as the program support requires.

    • Utilize MRP systems and PeopleSoft Financial system.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

Communicates with contacts in own team to explain and interpret information. Contributes to systems and processes changes in work routines. Less guidance and direction provided as proficiency increases. May provide guidance and assistance to support level employees.Communicates with contacts within and outside of own department and may occasionally have responsibility for communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors, etc.). Explains and interprets processes and procedures to others within and outside the job area. May work to justify and gain cooperation regarding processes, practices and procedures.

    • Communicates with contacts typically within own team on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring some explanation or interpretation in order to understand and reach agreement.

    • Work consists of less-routine tasks in contribution to changes in systems and processes to solve problems. May be required to apply discretion within identified boundaries and procedures. Responsible for making minor changes in processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of approaches and routines being utilized. Expected to propose solutions to problems for others review.

    • Works to achieve operational targets within job area which has impact on the overall achievement of results for the team. Work is of limited scope, typically on smaller, less complex projects or task-related activities.

    This position requires an Active DoD security clearance at the Secret level and must be able to maintain the clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
