  • About The Job

    The Red Hat Technical Account Management (TAM) team is adding an Associate Manager to our North America Public Sector Services organization. Our team provides enhanced support to government and public sector accounts, including Department of Defense, state and local agencies, higher education institutions, and others. In this role, you will manage a team of skilled Technical Account Managers and partner closely with your peers to guide initiatives and continually develop your team member's professional skills and technical expertise. As an Associate Manager, you'll need to demonstrate leadership and build on your own experience to inspire, motivate, and develop your team members.

    The preferred work location is the Northern Virginia area; though applicants in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern United States will also be considered to work remotely. U.S. citizenship is required to fulfill government contracts.

    What You Will Do

    • Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to increase your team's capabilities, develop their competencies, and ensure goals and expectations are met

    • Proactively identify, recruit, assess, onboard, train, and develop a team of skilled technical and customer success professionals

    • Ensure that critical escalations are handled in a timely and customer-centric manner

    • Manage the collection, aggregation, interpretation, and reporting of organizational performance metrics to be used by management and operational leaders to guide strategic business decisions

    • Provide guidance to associates within the established company policies; recommend changes to policies and procedures

    • Support sales cycles across our portfolio of offerings, work with the sales teams on understanding the subscription consumption, and work throughout the year to maximize the value our customers are getting from their subscriptions

    • Promote and guide continuous professional and personal development of team members

    • Maintain knowledge of current technologies and business needs

    • Build and maintain relationships with our customers

    What You Will Bring

    • US Citizenship is required to fulfill government contracts

    • Experience in engineering, computer science, open source software, or related technical field

    • Experience leading and mentoring others, including people management or team lead experience

    • Ability to identify potential, develop people, and motivate and build a team

    • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with associates from diverse cultural backgrounds

    • Passion for learning and sharing your knowledge and experience

    • Ability to travel as required to support our business and our team

    • Familiarity with Red Hat's portfolio of offerings and subscription business model is a plus

    • Knowledge of open source software solutions and open source as a business model is preferred

    • Experience in sales or in a role supporting sales is preferred as is experience working within the US public sector

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required

    The salary range for this position is $101,300.00 - $162,050.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

    Pay Transparency

    Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
