Associate Laboratory Technician

Overview

Performs laboratory assays that demand a professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of cell culture and media preparation.

Position Details:

• Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4 PM with occasional weekend and holiday work

• Anticipated Pay Range: $19-21 per hour dependent on experience

• 100% Onsite at our facility in St Paul, MN

Responsibilities

• Provides operational support for the Genotoxicology Laboratory, activities including (Ex. media/buffer preparation, cleaning activities, and equipment, maintain mammalian cell cultures, Aseptic Technique).

• Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.

• Perform Ames assays independently

• Perform Chromosome Aberration, Mouse Lymphoma and Mouse Micronucleus assays in conjunction with senior staff

• Understand the proper and safe use of hazardous chemicals

• Understand the proper and safe handling of potentially pathogenic materials

• Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals

• Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices

• Maybe required to work Holidays and weekends

• Maybe required to work Overtime

• Other duties as assigned

• May be required to assist in other departments

Qualifications

Experience / Education

• No experience required

• Bachelor's Degree of equivalent required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

• Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills

• Need to be able to read, write and understand English

• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work in Lab setting with exposure to Animals/biohazards / Chemicals

• Must not have animal allergies to applicable species in this facility

• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE

• Must be able to work in environment with variable noise levels

• Ability to stand /Sit/walk for long periods of time

• Ability to Lift 10 lbs routinely

• Ability to push/pull 10 lbs routinely/ often / occasionally

• Clarity of Vision

• Ability to identify and distinguish colors

• Must be able to perform activities with repetitive motions
