  • About The Role

    HUB International continues to grow at an exponential rate and are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced Assistant Vice President, Sales and Distribution to join our Personal Insurance team. This role will report to our Senior Vice President of Personal Insurance for the GTA. This is an ideal role for an individual who is driven by creating and supporting high performance, client focused sales teams.

    What You'll Do:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Sales Advisors, ensuring alignment with company goals and driving performance

    • Provide strategic guidance on client acquisition, retention, and cross-selling opportunities

    • Monitor and evaluate the team's sales performance, offering coaching and support

    • Develop and execute strategies to grow the book of business, focusing on expanding market share, lead generation, and fostering long-term client relationships

    • Identify opportunities for new business, including emerging markets, and leverage internal and external networks to drive sales initiatives

    • Collaborate with marketing and other internal teams to create new business development.

    • Work with sales and other units to develop cross-sell and upsell opportunities

    • Serve as a liaison between the Production team and senior leadership, providing insights into trends and performance

    What You'll Bring:

    E xperience:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on sales, business development, distribution and managing personal insurance sales teams

    • Experience in a leadership or management role, preferably within an insurance brokerage in Ontario

    • Proven record of leading successful producer teams in the Ontario insurance market

    Education:

    • Degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

    • Professional designation i.e. CIP, CAIB, CRM is an asset

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a sales team

    • Deep understanding of the Ontario insurance market, including the regulatory environment and specific client needs across personal lines

    • Strong understanding of personal insurance underwriting, carriers and products

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement business development plans and identify growth opportunities

    • Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities

    • Experience with Ontario-specific insurance broker management systems such as EPIC

    Licensing and Compliance:

    RIBO License : A valid RIBO license is required to operate as an insurance broker in Ontario.

    • In-depth knowledge of Ontario's insurance regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

    • Must adhere to all provincial compliance regulations, including continuing education requirements for maintaining RIBO licensure.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

    • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events as required within Ontario.

    • Valid Ontario driver's license for travel to client sites and industry events.
