  • Job Overview

    We are seeking an Architect to lead in the Enterprise Architecture Practice organization. Enterprise Architecture Practice ensures that software design and development activities are in conformance with published Architecture Principles and Patterns and aligned with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) requirements. SDLC adherence is mandated in support of LPL's broader mission and business objectives, as well as risk mitigation strategies. Enterprise Architecture Practice mitigates against organizational and financial risk through robust Governance oversight. Ensuring full coverage and compliance with well-documented Modern Architecture Guidelines and Standards is a core responsibility of Enterprise Architecture Practice; this also necessitates maintenance and curation of the Enterprise Architecture Library. Additionally, Enterprise Architecture Practice is responsible for Application Lifecycle Management, which spans application sunrise, maintenance, investment, replacement and retirement. This Enterprise Architecture Practice role is a unique opportunity to lead in an area that is critical to our business and will set LPL up for success in the future.

    This individual must be able to work in a fast paced, start up like environment, and collaborate with Business and Technology stakeholders effectively.

    Responsibilities
    • Act as the owner of various Governance Boards; the ultimate objective of Architecture Governance is to ensure software design, software acquisition, and development activities conform with published Architecture Principles and Patterns and are aligned with the Software Development Lifecycle.
    • Ensure the Architecture and Development communities are educated about Governance processes and procedures through clear and concise documentation, training sessions and effective communication tactics.
    • Maintain and curate the Enterprise Architecture Library; ensure artifacts are searchable, accessible, current and presentable; this discipline guarantees that the development community is referencing the latest technology guidelines and expectations.
    • Manage the LPL Technology Stack, and provide oversight of technology product lifecycle stages, with a heightened focus on sunrise and sunset activities.
    • Author Enterprise Architecture Practice procedural documents; socialize these processes and procedures with impacted stakeholders and drive adoption across the Firm.
    • Identify gaps in Governance oversight or opportunities to streamline existing governance processes; ideate and influence ways to operationalize changes.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the various technology and business stakeholders and leaders; partner with these stakeholders to continuously improve the Governance framework and ensure it operates with a customer service-oriented mindset.
    • Develop a deep understanding of Firm-wide strategic goals.
    • Support and Govern against Domain Blueprints, which articulate a 3-year target architecture roadmap informed by Business, Product and Technology drivers.
    Credentials and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
    • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both Business and Technology stakeholders of various levels.
    • Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.
    • Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.
    • Proactive problem-solving skills with a strong customer-centric attitude.

    Pay Range:

    $125,900.00 - $209,900.00

    Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
