    COMPENSATION: $75,645 -$ 84,722 Annually
    DEFINITION:

    The Assistant Treasurer will assist the Treasurer in the administration of financial operations and shall be responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the Treasurer's office, as well as the entire school district. The Assistant Treasurer will perform in a professional manner all duties assigned, contributing to an efficient operation of the Treasurer's office.

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
    2. Treasurer's License preferred.
    3. A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.
    4. Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies.
    5. Experience with Uniform School Accounting Standards (USAS) and GAAP preferred.
    6. Experience with state software for Ohio school districts preferred.
    7. Proficient in office/finance related software programs, technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.
    8. Effective organizational, planning and project management skills.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    As assessed by the Treasurer, the duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Treasurer will be as follows:
    1. Assist the Treasurer in all matters concerning payroll, benefits, accounting, grants, and the reporting thereof.
    2. Assist the Treasurer as the custodian of records for the school district.
    3. Ensure the Treasurer's office meets all deadlines and reporting requirements
    4. Post bi-monthly state foundation payments.
    5. Post property tax settlements and associated expenses.
    6. Post revenue from the Wooster City School District.
    7. Post all benefit related expenditures.
    8. Make monthly benefit payments to all vendors.
    9. Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
    10. Perform month-end closing procedures.
    11. Perform year-end closing procedures.
    12. Assist with the annual GAAP conversion in conjunction with a third-party accounting firm.
    13. Assist with the annual audit process.
    14. Responsible for set up and maintenance of all inventory of assets for the District.
    15. Develop and monitor state/federal grant program budgets, CCIP and requests for cash/PCR's as well as final expenditure reports/ FER's
    16. Facilitate the completion of time and effort documentation for all federal grant funds.
    17. Process fund to fund transfers, advances and return of advances.
    18. Assist the Payroll Clerk with preparation of payroll and reporting to necessary agencies when requested by the Treasurer.
    19. Assist the Treasurer with cost estimates relative to functions of the district when necessary.
    20. Perform other duties as assigned by the Treasurer.
    21. Provides critical analysis as needed.
    22. Reports misconduct or violations of policy or procedure.
    23. Must ensure that official communications are accurate, demonstrate sound judgment, and promote the employer's mission.
    24. Must ensure that all applicable laws and regulations are followed. In the event the employee becomes aware of any non-compliance by the District or other staff, the employee is to report such to his/her immediate supervisor (or the next higher level, if the supervisor is responsible for the problem) and maintain the confidentiality of the report so that the problem can be appropriately corrected in the best interests of the District.
