    We are seeking applicants for an Assistant Superintendent Finishing/Shipping in our International Falls, MN Paper Mill. The International Falls facility is a White Paper Mill owned by Packaging Corporation of America.

    Principle Accountabilities:
    • This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations management of two roll wrap lines, shipping operations, sheeting operations and the warehouse. This position is responsible to facilitate equipment maintenance, crew management around safety, training, expectations, accountability and supplies in the department.
    • Safety/Housekeeping - Communicate and assure that crews are conforming to safety rules and housekeeping standards by being visible in the field or on the floor having focused conversations around safety.
    • Quality/Optimization - Responsible for addressing claims and assuring that customer needs and specifications are met by seeing that expectations and standards are clearly communicated to the crews.
    • Productivity - Set goals and expectations.
    • Operational Reliability - Coordinate maintenance activities on equipment in the department.
    • Planning - Long term planning of asset enhancements and maintenance by defining and scoping capital requirements.
    • Administrative - Analyze costs per month to assure changes are controlled and correct.
    • Training - Develop personnel to improve their contribution through training and employee involvement.
    Basic Requirements:
    • B.S. Degree in Engineering or a minimum of 3 years' experience with demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience within and outside of the company.
    • Solid working knowledge of PC applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.
    • Strong listening, evaluating and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to create alternative solutions and meet deadlines.
    • Strong leadership skills and experience leading a team preferred, or a strong understanding of the importance of open communication and information sharing among co-workers.
    • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
