The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor, General Faculty (teaching track) position, to begin in the 2025-2026 academic year. The primary responsibilities will involve instruction of large lecture and/or lab courses in organic chemistry or biochemistry; the ability to teach both organic and biochemistry is a plus.
Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in organic chemistry and/or biochemistry courses. The successful candidate is expected to teach three courses per semester or their equivalent. Start date for the position is August 2025.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes full-time salary with full-time benefits. The term of this appointment will be for three academic years with the possibility of renewal. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field is required by appointment start date. A commitment to teaching excellence is expected.
