Assistant Instructional Professor in Social Work

Job Description

Pittsburg State University is accepting applications for two positions as Assistant Instructional Professor in Social Work. The successful applicant will teach 4 classes each semester in a BSW and MSW program. One appointment will begin January 2025 and one will begin in August 2025

We are seeking a highly qualified social work practitioner who can teach across the BSW and MSW programs in the School of History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences. The ideal candidate will have substantial practice experience, demonstrated commitment to educating future social work professionals, continuous engagement in professional development, and the ability to positively contribute to a collaborative and collegial environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Qualified candidates must have a master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program; A social work license at the master's or clinical level; A minimum of two (2) years full-time post-MSW experience in a social work practice setting.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

A doctoral degree or ABD in Social Work or closely related field; Social Work licensure at the clinical level; Proficiency with Canvas; Experience teaching at the university level; Experience with both in-person and online delivery. Experience with forensic social work; Experience in the addictions field. Five or more years full-time post-MSW experience in a clinical social work practice setting.
