    Job Summary:

    The Assistant Controller will leverage his/her experience and dedication to help lead the continuous improvement in the Finance area and further instill a consistent culture of engagement, transparency, accountability, high performance, and excellence. In essence, the Assistant Controller will be the right-hand to the VP, Finance/Controller and will play an instrumental role in driving continued improvement and operational excellence. This position reports to the VP, Finance/Controller.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Leads the Accounting and back-office processes of the Company, including direct oversight of the Accounting, Accounts Receivable, Sales Tax and Cash applications functions of the business.


    • Optimize processes and controls to ensure the highest level of data and financial integrity and operational efficiency.

    • Leads and ensures accurate and timely financial closes, interim/year-end audits, regulatory filings and other legal/operational matters for the company.

    • Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates operating metric dashboards to drive informed management of the broader business.

    • Directly supports the operations and functional department leadership through the preparation of special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing key trends.

    • Assists in achieving budget objectives by monitoring real-time variances in key levers of the business compared to the budget.

    • Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports as needed. Participates in company workgroups as needed.

    • Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the company’s annual audit.

    • Assures corporate Income and Sales tax compliance by driving accurate and timely completion of all corporate income tax returns requests and any sales tax issues or audits that arise.

    • Evaluates, manages and motivates all direct reports, with a strong emphasis on robust planning, organizational awareness, strong preparation, follow-through, accountability and clear communication.

    • Works with the VP, Finance/Controller and other leadership team members on Operational and Process Improvement Projects and day-to-day problem resolution, representing Finance as a key and indispensable business partner to the other functions within the company.

    Required Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of finance experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

    • Finance leadership experience in a multi-disciplinary finance organization for a technology, SaaS, IT service or communications networking company. Construction and services experience a plus.

    • Ideally, financial leadership experience in $50-$250+ million organization(s); knowledgeable of the aspects of a small company while also understanding how to scale to a larger one.

    • 5+ years of ERP implementation and optimization experience, preferably with NetSuite and Salesforce

    • Solid understanding of ASC 842, ASC 606, Project accounting and associated revenue recognition rules/ERP intra-workings.

    • Prior experience managing finance professionals and leading teams on project/task-based initiatives.
