$185,624.00 (Annual Salary Minimum) - $281,222.00 (Annual Salary Maximum)
*Initial salary will be between $228,823.00 - $242,717.00 annually to commensurate with education and experience.

Current AssignmentThe Assistant Chief Maintenance Officer will be responsible for assisting with the safety, training, administration, direction, and overall management of multiple departments including but limited to, the Maintenance & Engineering Command Center (MECC) department, Track Construction, Traction Power, Train Control, Structures, Contractor Projects, etcetera. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing maintenance and safety operations during non-revenue hours, fostering communication with grave shift managers and superintendents, conducting field visits, addressing safety violations, and reporting findings to leadership. The role ensures efficient decision-making for maintenance activities, coordinates with track superintendents on bid schedules, and drives improvements in scheduling, staffing, and operational processes.
This position includes greater responsibilities in managing all activities in the MECC department, supporting recruitment, and driving continuous operational improvements. As the role evolves, expectations may expand to include broader leadership over departmental training, further development of processes, and increased cross-departmental coordination. The Assistant Chief Maintenance Officer will play a key role in shaping future operational strategies and fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and collaboration.

Examples of DutiesEducation:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
The equivalent of seven (7) of full-time professional verifiable experience in maintenance engineering, maintenance management or related experience, which must have included at least three (3) years of management responsibility.
Substitution:
Additional professional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis. A college degree is preferred.
