    Job Description

    AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking an Architectural Lab Planner to join our team. This position could be based out of any of our Canadian offices.

    AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building's engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.

    Major Responsibilities:

    Working closely with our regional Science & Research Sub sector Business Line Leader and within the context of a multi-disciplinary team, this individual will:

    • Work directly with clients, scientists, researchers, and related end-users to develop laboratory planning strategies at all levels of detail including new construction and renovations

    • Offer and support creative laboratory planning, technical design and detailing decisions that are in line with project goals and understand their impact on cost, construction, sustainability, and other factors

    • Offer and support Pharmaceutical related planning, technical design and detailing decisions that are in line with project goals and understand their impact on cost, construction, sustainability, and other factors

    • Provide or follow verbal and written instructions to revise, develop and produce plans, elevations, and details appropriately

    • Direct document production in accordance with identified project specific checklists, AECOM standards and QA/QC standard program

    • Promote firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability

    • Day to day project and client management of laboratory projects from initial planning through construction

    • Excellence in managing and delivering a market driven business strategy

    • Education and awareness of AECOM service offerings

    • Hiring and managing a group of staff

    • External and internal client development and communication across a diversity of client type

    • Develop sustainability & environment; social impact; urban design and resiliency planning within science and research sector and Social Infrastructure in collaboration with Sector leaders

    • Support our regional Science & Research Sub sector Business Line Leader in developing different strategies of growth and in Proposal development

    • Support our regional Science & Research Sub sector Business Line Leader in developing conference topics, client's presentation for Business development and attend conference when needed.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    At a minimum to be considered, candidates must have at least:

    • Diploma/Certificate in relevant field of study + 4 (four) years of relevant experience, including within Architecture and Laboratory Planning.

    Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

    Preferred Requirements:

    • College Diploma in Architectural Technology.

    • Relevant experience in laboratory planning.

    Additional Information

    • Relocation is not available for this position.

    • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $70,000.00 - $115,000.00.
