Apparel Technical Design Assistant

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Apparel Technical Design Assistant in the apparel industry, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is key to the productivity and efficiency of our design team, with a focus on supporting the Apparel Technical Designer throughout the garment development process. You will be part of a dynamic team, working alongside various roles within the company, contributing to the innovation of our heated gear solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in compiling technical design documents, including data entry, comments, and technical sketches.

• Evaluate garment samples to ensure they meet specifications, construction, and fit intent.

• Participate in technical fittings, including measuring and preparing patterns.

• Manage samples and trims, including deconstruction, augmentation, and sorting.

• Support materials testing, including requesting tests, coordinating testing materials, and arranging shipping.

• Contribute to the development of athletic apparel, ensuring it meets the standards and needs of our professional users.

• Utilize various software such as Microsoft Office Suites, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Sketch to complete tasks efficiently.

• Maintain strong interpersonal relationships within the team and demonstrate strong communication skills.

• Utilize management system skills to ensure operations run smoothly.

• Apply knowledge of technical design documents and concept sketches to contribute to the design process.

Requirements - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word

• Experience with Management System

• Knowledge and experience in using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Sketch for creating Concept Sketches and Technical Design Documents

• Familiarity with About Time software

• Exceptional skills in Customer Service and Correspondence

• Proficiency in Data Entry tasks

• Knowledge of Athletic Apparel

• Experience with creating and understanding Technical Specs

• Ability to provide high-quality administrative coordination and support
