    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time opening for a salaried, non-exempt Analyzer Technician. This position will calibrate, maintain, and repair all analyzers and associated systems within the St. Paul Park Refinery location. The Analyzer Technician works Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm with overtime as needed.

    JOB DUTIES

    • Perform preventative maintenance on plant process and CEM analyzer systems.

    • Run diagnostic programs and troubleshoot using Honeywell Experion.

    • General understanding of refinery process units and process knowledge.

    • Identify root cause or failure mechanisms of analyzer systems.

    • Sustain and repair process and environmental analyzers.

    • Provide startup assistance and project work, as necessary, for unit outages and construction projects.

    • Utilize a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work order closure and improve historical records and reliability.

    • Troubleshoot, diagnose and assess performance of Analyzer systems.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Associates degree or certification in instrumentation, industrial control/automation, or related technical discipline.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

    • Strong interpersonal skills to support team philosophy and strategy.

    • Ability to keep accurate, legible documentation of work.

    • Safe work practices to ensure safety is a fundamental part of every task, which includes following all safety procedures and maintaining good housekeeping practices.

    • Willingness to work outside in various weather conditions.

    • Ability to work overtime, work after hour callouts, and occasional plant shutdowns/startups.

    • Foster a positive attitude, willingness to collaborate, and team with others to accomplish work efficiently and to high quality standards.

    • Must possess a valid Driver's License.

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.

    • Understanding of controllers and tuning parameters.

    • Must successfully complete a rigorous pre-employment assessment process, drug/alcohol and medical screenings, and a background check.

    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings including wiring diagrams, loop drawings, and P&IDs.

    • Analyzer Technicians work a four-ten (Monday - Thursday) schedule and must be available for overtime and rotating on call as required.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Performed maintenance or has work experience in the Chemical/Petrochemical or Refining Industries on Gas Chromatography and EPA CEMS Analyzers.

    • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities on individual devices and systems.

    • Experience working with SAP and Meridium software.

    • Experience with various continuous gas analyzers, gas chromatograph analyzers and NIR analyzers.

    • Knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements including but not limited to Process Safety Management (PSM), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), American Petroleum Institute (API), National Electrical Code (NEC), Environmental Standards and other applicable regulations.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Physically able to perform all duties required which may involve (among others): bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing ladders, lifting and carrying loads up to 50 lbs.

    • Ability to climb to heights of 200 ft or greater above grade and work effectively.

    PAY AND BENEFITS

    • Pay range is between $42.53 and $55.43 per hour with highly competitive benefits including:

    • Annual Bonus plan that applies to all annual eligible earnings with a target of 8% - 16% of your annual income.

    • 401k plan with Company match of 7% on 6% employee contribution.

    • Cash balance pension plan of 7%, 9%, 11% depending on age and years of service.
