Analytics Developer

Description We are seeking a Database Developer to be based in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing analytical solutions, turning data into actionable knowledge. This role will be instrumental in enhancing our business intelligence capabilities to support various areas of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring the development of efficient and effective solutions.

• Develop, design, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets, adhering to industry best practices.

• Review, interpret, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL queries, ensuring maintainable code via proper structures, comments, and design.

• Validate the data in reports thoroughly to build trust in the business intelligence solutions provided to end users.

• Demonstrate proficiency in the use of business intelligence technologies to support business objectives.

• Perform source data analysis, including data profiling, validation, conceptual and logical data modeling, to determine the suitability of the source data for meeting reporting requirements.

• Meet with subject matter experts in different areas of the business, learn the concepts and business language relevant to their line of business, and develop an understanding of how their data supports their business processes.

• Collaborate with partners to develop business requirements leading to successful project outcomes and drive innovative approaches for assigned solutions.

• Adhere to project methodology, change management, and departmental procedures.

• Interact effectively in a team environment with peers and members of other teams, even if located remotely.

• Use relevant skills such as Database, Database Object, EO/IR systems, Erwin Data, Microsoft SQL Server, AB Testing, Data Warehousing, Design, ETL - Extract Transform Load, Flat File, Microsoft SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Power BI, Dax Technologies. Requirements

• The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Developer or related role.

• Proficiency in database management and database objects is mandatory.

• Experience with EO/IR systems is required.

• Knowledge of Erwin Data modeling software is essential.

• The candidate should have experience working with Microsoft SQL Server.

• Familiarity with AB Testing is a plus.

• Experience in Data Warehousing is necessary.

• The candidate must possess strong design skills.

• Knowledge of ETL - Extract Transform Load process is required.

• Experience working with Flat File databases is beneficial.

• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL is necessary.

• The candidate should have experience with Power BI and Microsoft Power BI.

• Knowledge of Dax Technologies is advantageous.
