AIX/Linux Systems Administrator

Description

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a System Administrator L3 in the Automotive industry. The role will be based in Greensburg, Indiana, with the potential for remote work. This position will play a pivotal role in managing technical operations and maintaining system efficiency.

Initial period will be remote hybrid to understand the business

Responsibilities

• Planning upgrades and patches

• Remediating incidents and problems

• Facilitating communication between technical and managerial staff across multiple organizations

• Middleware vulnerability management

• Managing red hat Linux vm's with open-shift container deployments

• Upgrading middleware such as WebSphere device wise

• Validating systems after OS patching

• Supporting migrations of systems during hardware renewals

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in middleware systems administration

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple organizations

• Ability to quickly react to support production environment

• Redhat Linux

• WebSphere

• AIX

• SAN, Storage experience

• DB2 on Unix awareness

• PostGres SQL awareness

• Open-Shift Containers

• Cisco UCS hardware experience

Work Schedule

• Primary support hours will be during the 1st shift manufacturing hours

• After-hours on-call support will be required

• Will often require weekend work
