  • Job Title: A&P Mechanic

    Job Description

    Perform modification and heavy maintenance/depot level maintenance on aircraft for military/government customers.

    Responsibilities

    • Examine and inspect aircraft components, including landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers to locate cracks, breaks, leaks, or other problems.

    • Conduct routine and special inspections as required by regulations.

    • Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation.

    • Read and interpret maintenance manuals and manufacturer publications and directives to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.

    • Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance.

    • Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications.

    • Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components, using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.

    • Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of problems to diagnose causes.

    • Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories, using hand or power tools.

    • Inventory and order supplies, parts, materials, and equipment.

    • Check for corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail.

    Essential Skills

    • A&P license.

    • 5 years of heavy maintenance experience on aircraft.

    • Experience in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) or Depot environment.

    • Must provide own tools.

    • Must be eligible for a Secret clearance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    • Military Experience preferred.

    • Experience with heavy maintenance/modification in an MRO or Depot environment.

    • Experience with C checks, D checks, and helicopter maintenance.

    Work Environment

    Individuals will be working in a hangar environment, specifically in a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) setting. The company has several heavy maintenance and modification programs. Workers will adhere to the production schedule, including work cards, and must complete tasks within designated time frames. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday with 4/10 hour shifts, meaning employees will work either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday starting at 6:30 AM.
