    Senior Principal Project Engineer of Platform Internal Solutions - ACTT (Onsite)

The Air Combat Test & Training (ACTT) Engineering Department specializes in developing state-of-the-art products for cryptographic, datalink, networking, and command and control applications. Focused on U.S. military communication systems, navigation systems, and networks, we guide products from concept phase through accreditation to factory production. This includes design, analysis, test, and certification, integrating them into the Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training Environment. Positioned in the Mission Systems business unit, our role involves addressing challenges such as developing next-generation secure aircraft instrumentation for the next generation, LVC for test and training, and crafting product roadmaps and architectures.

    The ACTT is looking for a Senior Principal Project Engineer to join our team as we provide technical excellence in a rapidly growing Air Combat Training market for system of systems requirements, design, verification, accreditation, and sustainment efforts. This role is focused on internal mounted form factors of the air combat training system. This role will have direct customer and end-user interaction and coordination across development teams and stakeholders.

    This role is located onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA and is eligible for relocation assistance.

    What You Will Do

    • Direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.

    • Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of your projects within program guidelines.

    • Liaise between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.

    • Prepare proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.

    • Review project and budget status, manages schedules and prepare reports.

    • Monitor and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

    • Direct the work of employees assigned on projects in technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

    • Establish design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.

    • Be responsible for procurement of appropriate development hardware used for testing and development.

    • Meet program schedules and budgets.

    • Provide input to the integrated master schedule for project(s).

    Qualifications We Prefer

    • Experience as engineering bid lead on large, complex pursuits

    • Experience supporting Business Development and Program Management in the creation of business cases and product roadmaps

    • Preferred applicants will currently hold a Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years

    Qualifications You Must Have

    • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen

    • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

    The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
