We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join a national research organization with a mission to support data-driven decision-making and advance public knowledge across fields such as health, education, economics, and social science. Our team is dedicated to utilize cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) technologies to advance public knowledge and policy.

In this role, we're looking for a Machine LEarning Engineer with a specialization in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to enhance our capabilities in natural language understanding and generation. This role will focus on fine-tuning and deploying LLMs integrated with RAG approaches to ensure that our models deliver accurate outputs within AWS and Azure environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure.

• Experience programing custome RAG appications to enhance capabilities for chatbots, document analysis, and image recognition.

• Proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

• Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Rekognition) and Azure AI/ML services (e.g., Azure Cognitive Services).

Desired Skills & Experience

• Experience with large language models (LLMs), transformer architectures, and fine-tuning for specific applications.

• Deploy AI/ML models to production environments on AWS and Azure using services like SageMaker Inference and Azure Machine Learning Deployments.

• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure management, data pipelines, and preprocessing for AI/ML.

• Familiarity with RAG applications, API integration, Co-pilot tools, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Strong problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

• Commitment to staying current with AI/ML trends and driving business value through intelligent solutions.
