    The Leon Neuroscience Center for Excellence at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking an experienced, Pediatric Behavioral Health and Development Advanced Practice Provider to join their team as we continue our efforts to offer comprehensive pediatric care so children have the opportunity to continue progressing, regardless of injury or disorder. The interprofessional team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, psychologists, and neuropsychologists.

    Responsibilities:

    Essential Functions:

    • Outpatient clinic only (8 clinical sessions per week plus administrative time for coordination of care, patient phone calls, and completion of clinical documentation)

    • Potential for participation in multidisciplinary clinics, satellite clinic opportunities, medication follow-up appointments, and standardized developmental testing commensurate with experience and interest.

    • Effectively identify, evaluate, treat and follow-up patients in the practice in collaboration with supervising physicians.

    • Appropriately manage specific developmental and behavioral disorders including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Behavior Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities and medically complex children with developmental delays in collaboration with supervising faculty.

    • Partner with families to provide developmentally appropriate anticipatory guidance for navigating school, outpatient, and home settings.

    • Coordinate/collaborate with parents, teachers, and therapists to set children up for success

    • Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and related therapeutic procedures.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Training

    • Master’s degree or Doctorate degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Studies.

    Licensure/Certification

    • Certified as a Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner

    • Designated as or in the process of obtaining a Certification as a Pediatric Primary Care Mental Health Specialist (PMHNP-BC or PMHCNS) or Psychiatric Certification as a APRN through the ANCC

    • Current active certification and licensure in the State of Florida as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant.

    • Maintains current BLS and PALS certification.

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in Pediatric Primary Care, Pediatric Behavioral Health, Neurology or Mental Health
