    Funding available through 09/30/2025; continuance beyond that date issubject to the department's operational needs as outlined in APPM Policy #3200,Employee Classification

    The University of New Mexico has establishedbranch colleges to serve the citizens of New Mexico and to provide the highestquality of education for students pursuing post-secondary education atdifferent locations throughout the state. Branch colleges respond specificallyto the unique needs and multicultural backgrounds of their respective communitiesby offering community education programs, career and technical educationincluding certificate and associate degree programs, and transfer programs thatprepare students for upper division entry into colleges and universities.

    The UNM Gallup NativeAmerican Student Success Center is seeking an experienced and dedicatedfull-time Administrative Assistant 2. This position requires the employee toperform a variety of administrative and staff support duties that involve arange of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. TheAdministrative Assistant is responsible for assisting and directing visitors,resolving administrative problems and inquiries. The Administrative Assistantalso composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence and reports, with theability to professionally prepare a range of administrative documents. Performsmiscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

    Conditions of Employment

    • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required.
    • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

    Minimum Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

    Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Career and technical, college, or university attendance and/or degree
    • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures with strong focus on successful customer service, including telephone and email etiquette
    • Familiarity with financial and purchasing practices and procedures
    • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Possess strong organizational and projectmanagement skills
