    Job Description

    The Department of Engineering Technology seeks to expand its pool of applicants for potential adjunct faculty positions. We are seeking Master's and Doctoral-qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses and/or labs in the following disciplines:

    • Course content may include instruction related to one or more of the following:
      • Construction materials and methods,
      • Project cost estimating,
      • Project planning and schedule,
      • Jobsite quality including site layout and dimensional control,
      • Project site safety, and/or
      • Drawing and plan reviews
    • Labs may require hands on instruction associated with one or more of the following trades (note, each of these trades may be taught independently or in combination in a lab setting and will be associated with a materials and methods course):
      • Carpentry,
      • Masonry,
      • Concrete,
      • Plumbing and/or
      • Electrical work
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs.
    • Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards.
    • Plan and create lectures and lab work, in-class discussions, and assignments.
    • Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
    • For labs, provide hands on instruction showing students proper procedures related to installation and/or modification of construction systems or subsystems.
    • Assist/mentor students as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    PHYSICAL ABILITIES

    The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough or uneven surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common construction related activities, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    Minimum required experience: Master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Construction Management or related discipline as appropriate to the program and two years of related experience
