    The Role at a Glance

    As an Actuary of the Annuity Inforce Model Governance and Stewardship team, you will perform comprehensive reviews of various models used in the Annuity business unit for purposes of valuation, projections, pricing, financial planning, and strategic projects. The focus of this team is to deliver insightful, value-adding, actionable model risk analytics and governance to drive business results.

    This position will also provide a great opportunity to positively impact decision making by refining the models used for long-term strategic plan. The individual will work with other teams to improve the understanding of the true shape of inforce capital generation to uncover key business insight for management.

    What you'll be doing

    • Working with cross-functional team to identify and understand required changes to AXIS annuity models

    • Provide detailed checks of model validations performed by the model development team to ensure robust documentation of the reviews.

    • Perform an independent comprehensive model validation for key model changes including key data inputs, assumptions, and model calculation by updating Microsoft Excel model validation tools.

    • Develop and implement automation strategies to enhance existing validation tools, creating efficient, repeatable and scalable processes.

    • Engage with model developers and other stakeholders to communicate model review findings and develop appropriate solutions.

    • Identify and recommend process improvements that significantly reduce workload or enhance quality across the team

    • Review financial projection model used for long-term strategic plan, identify & research issues in models, and provide solutions.

    What we're looking for

    Must have:

    • 7+ years of actuarial experience with actuarial credentials (ASA or FSA)

    • Experience in actuarial modeling and/or valuation experience in GGY-AXIS

    • Experience in reviewing and assessing the appropriateness of complex models

    • Experience with VBA, Python, or other programming languages preferred

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    • Substantial annuity product knowledge and general insurance business knowledge

    • Strong understanding of regulatory and accounting frameworks (Stat/GAAP/Tax/RBC)

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • History of innovation and process improvement

    Nice to have:

    • Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau)

    The pay range for this position is $90,300 - $164,700 with anticipated pay for new hires between the minimum and midpoint of the range and could vary above and below the listed range as permitted by applicable law. Pay is based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln's total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln's standard benefits package.
