    Accounts Receivable Specialist

    Non-Exempt

    Reports to Credit Manager

    Summary

    We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist responsible for working closely with our customers to take payments, answer questions, and resolve any accounting issues. This role also serves as an accounting clerk that will assist in invoicing orders, processing and posting payments to accounts, and performing other basic accounting tasks. The ideal candidate should be familiar with all accounting procedures and demonstrate a high level of integrity and independence.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Facilitate inbound accounts receivable calls and outbound collection calls to work directly with customers to resolve open account balances.
    • Work collaboratively with the sales team to collect outstanding debts in a timely and professional manner.
    • Handle daily accounting tasks including daily cash settlements and applying payments on account.
    • Deliver customer satisfaction through collaborative problem solving with various stakeholders throughout the organization.
    • Assist in gathering information from various sources on customers applying for credit.
    • Handle invoicing of orders for the Media location.
    • Scan and upload records into the Company's document management system.
    • Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions.
    • Serve as the back-up for the Company's other Accounts Receivable Specialist.
    • Participate in the annual physical inventory.
    • Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
    • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Prior experience in an accounts receivable or general accounting role preferred.
    • Strong PC skills, including but not limited to experience working in an ERP system, Excel & Word.
    • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail.
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
    • Strong time management, communication and organizational skills are essential.
    • A passion for quality and a results-driven approach are a must.
    • Professional interactive and customer service skills are essential.
    • Must have the ability to work for extended hours when necessary.
    • Must possess a solid base in mathematics.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
