Kelly, a leader in providing workforce solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven individual to join our clients team in the transportation industry as an Accounts Receivable Collector. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding payments from customers.
Please note: this is a full time contract for 4 months, with a possibility of an extension or permanency. This position is Monday to Friday 8am-4:30pm and is not available on a bus route.
Monitor and manage accounts receivable balances, identifying and contacting customers with overdue payments.
Initiate communication with customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to address outstanding invoices and resolve payment issues.
Follow up on payment commitments and negotiate payment plans if necessary.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or disputes related to invoices or payments.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and collection efforts.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales or customer service, to address customer inquiries and resolve payment issues.
Escalate unresolved payment issues to the appropriate management level for further action.
Review and analyze aging reports to identify trends and potential risks.
Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status and collection efforts for management review.
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices related to accounts receivable and collections.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or finance is a plus.
Proven experience in accounts receivable or collections considered an asset
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively address payment issues and resolve disputes.
Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize collection efforts and meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.
Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel and Outlook.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve payment issues.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to accounts receivable and collections is preferred.
