Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in McLean, Virginia, 22102, United States. The selected candidate will contribute to our team by managing vendor accounts, handling accounting tasks, and using various software such as Deltek Costpoint, Deltek Time & Expense, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Handle vendor applications processing and upkeep of vendor accounts

• Manage vendor invoices review and incorporate them into Deltek CostPoint in accordance with complex purchase orders

• Oversee and execute expense reports using Deltek Time and Expense, adhering to governmental regulations and applicable accounting procedures and practices

• Conduct reconciliations of accounts payable control accounts, travel advances, petty cash, and fuel accounts

• Issue vendor checks, ensuring they are accompanied with the necessary backup documentation

• Address inquiries from vendors and internal customers, ensuring problems are resolved effectively

• Compile end-of-month ledger entries, bank reconciliation statements, and provide information requested by auditors

• Assist in office tasks such as filing and mail handling

• Manage the resetting of User passwords when necessary

• Execute check processing and account coding tasks

• Conduct other accounting functions as needed. Requirements - Proficiency in Account Coding is required.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is expected.

• Ability to handle Accounts Payable (AP) tasks efficiently.

• Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is a must.

• Experience with Deltek Time is preferred.

• Capable of conducting Bank Reconciliations accurately.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks.

• Skilled in Check Processing operations.

• Ability to manage and process Expense Reports effectively.
