Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the gas industry in Omaha, Nebraska. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for preparing invoices, auditing expense reports, and answering inquiries related to accounts payable. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining company policies and ensuring tax compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare invoices for processing in a timely manner

• Conduct audits on employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies

• Prepare weekly check runs to manage company expenses efficiently

• Maintain and organize departmental correspondence and checks

• Answer internal and external inquiries on the accounts payable helpline, providing clear and concise information

• Analyze invoices to ensure use tax compliance and avoid discrepancies

• Utilize Microsoft Excel and Oracle for data entry and invoice processing

• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, always adhering to company policies and regulations

• Ensure data accuracy in account reconciliation and accounts payable

• Utilize skills in coding invoices to maintain financial accuracy. Requirements - Must have a deep understanding of the Gas industry

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is essential

• Familiar with Check Runs process

• Proficiency in Coding Invoices

• Strong skills in Data Entry

• Proven experience in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Oracle is preferable

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and ability to multitask

• High level of integrity and professionalism

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field is preferred.
