    This position exists to provide advanced professional level budgeting and accounting services and provide support to OAH Executive leadership decision making. This position performs complex agency accounting functions, providing a high level of fiscal management skills, and has complex tracking and reporting responsibilities. This position is responsible for preparing annual spending plans and biennial and capital budgets, preparing and recording monthly, quarterly, and annual financial transactions and associated reporting. This position also provides oversight of accounts receivable and accounts payable and provides guidance and technical assistance on OAH payroll, purchasing and contracting activities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Two* (2) years professional accounting/budgeting experience with at least one (1) year experience as an Accounting Officer Intermediate or equivalent level, that includes the following:

    • Experience applying financial policies, procedures and principals including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), cost accounting principles, and general auditing procedures.

    • Experience completing budget and accounting transactions in a financial system.

    • Experience in accessing, analyzing and interpreting fiscal data and creating financial reports.

    • Experience presenting and communicating financial information and concepts to various non-technical audiences.

    *A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance may substitute for one year of professional level experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or related field.

    • Knowledge of statewide accounting systems/databases such as, OBIEE Warehouse, SEMA4, or SWIFT reporting tools sufficient to run ad-hoc reports and queries.

    • Experience leading others through projects, as a team lead or lead worker.

    Physical Requirements

    This is a sedentary position. It requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and laptops or accounting boxes. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
