  • ManTech is seeking an Accounting Manager responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. Manager will oversee all general ledger activities, including month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

    Will assist and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. Establish and ensure proper accounting methods, policies and principles. Accounting Manager should possess qualities to think critically to improve systems, procedures and to initiate corrective actions. The position requires the candidate to possess critical IT skills and analysis. The position will liaison between IT group and General Ledger. The candidate shall assist to improve and maintain systems to stay current with technology changes.

    Accounting Managers shall possess the ability to use MS Office, perform analytical and critical thinking skills, have inter-personal and people skills, listening skills, leadership skills, multi-tasking ability, oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.

    On-site 2x a week.

    Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

    • Coordinate with IT Financial Business Analyst to ensure sub-module integrations are integrated each month

    • Liaison between IT Financial Business Analyst and GL to coordinate upgrades and other IT related task between GL and IT group

    • Formulate and Maintain system generated reports and queries

    • Assist in the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with GAAP

    • Prepare and Review reconciliations

    • Manage the month-end and quarter-end close processes

    • Prepare, analyze, review, approve and post monthly journal entries

    • Manage the Inter-company balances and the transactions for new acquisitions

    • Maintain and review indirect expenses and rate reports

    • Maintain and perform cost allocations

    • Assist in the annual audit, internal audit and compliance audits

    • Ensure the department adheres to established internal controls

    • Assist in the Balance Sheet Reviews

    • Support the technical accounting, reporting group and provide support schedules

    • Asset Management

    • Meet financial accounting objectives

    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

    • Assign projects and direct staff (~~~) to ensure compliance and accuracy

    • Will manage at least 2 staff/Supervise GL Staff and Senior Accountants.

    • Train and transition functions to the accounting staff

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Basic Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting

    • 5+ years of experience in accounting

    • Experience managing employees

    • Strong IT skills related to integrations, data bases and Excel skills

    • Strong leadership and communication skills.

    Preferred Experience:

    • CPA

    • PeopleSoft knowledge

    • Fixed Asset Accounting experience

    • Lease Accounting experience

    • Experience managing employees

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

    • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations

    • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situation
