Job Title: Accounting Lead
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Lead to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead a team of four transactional resources, ensuring the team meets performance expectations, and providing coaching, leadership, and mentorship. You will be responsible for forecasting and analysis, maintaining cohesive and functional team operations, and preparing and maintaining balance sheet account continuity schedules. Additionally, you will manage approval workflows, document process flows, and handle cost variance reporting. Your role will also involve external audits, tax remittances, and the preparation of financial statements.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of four transactional resources, ensuring team performance expectations are met.
Coach, lead, and mentor the team to maintain a cohesive and functional work environment.
Responsible for forecasting and analysis.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet account continuity schedules.
Manage approval workflows and document process flows.
Report on cost variances.
Involved in external audits and tax remittances.
Prepare financial statements.
Essential Skills
Accounts payable experience, including three-way matching understanding and/or experience.
Financial statement preparation and variance analysis.
3+ years of post-CPA designation experience.
5+ years of full cycle accounting experience, including financial statement preparations, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and forecasting.
2+ years of supervisory experience with at least two direct reports.
Intermediate Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience learning new software systems (e.g., due to implementation or upgrade), including Power Query, Prophix, Alteryx, and Adra.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Alteryx, Adra, or Prophix software.
Proficiency in Power Query.
Experience training employees on software/system processes.
Experience implementing system/process improvements.
Skilled at building trust and rapport with new relationships and direct reports.
Ability to learn new tasks, technologies, systems, and processes quickly.
Solid interpersonal skills required to lead, coach, and mentor the team.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.86 - $48.08

This is a fully onsite position in Vancouver,BC.
