Accounting Clerk

Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract to permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level candidate looking to gain experience and establish themselves in the field of accounting. This role is a hands-on, multi-faceted role which requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Undergo training with AP personnel to gain full understanding of systems and processes - Accurately and efficiently process up to 50 invoices per day - Perform checks entry into the system and ensure accuracy of data - Assist in the preparation of checks every Wednesday and mail out accordingly - Take charge of filing duties and organize necessary documents systematically - Code, match and batch invoices and receipts - Extract and handle PO's from the system as required - Perform light administrative duties to assist the accounting department - Act as a support to the Accounts Receivable (AR) department

Requirements

• Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles - Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel - Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask - High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Self-motivated and able to work independently - Willingness to learn and grow within the company
