Accounting Assistant

Description We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Assistant in Exeter, New Hampshire. This role primarily involves handling accounts payable and receivable, and updating database records. The position is within the telecommunications industry, and the selected candidate will be based in a workplace setting.

Responsibilities

• Use Quickbooks, Quickbase, and web-based tools to process accounts payable

• Handle collections for customers with outstanding older invoices

• Update email addresses in the database using returned/undeliverable emails

• Utilize accounting software systems to maintain accurate records

• Perform billing functions and monitor cash activity

• Resolve any inquiries related to customer credit applications

• Maintain accurate customer credit records

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take necessary actions for delinquent payments. Requirements

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience in managing Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Billing Functions

• Ability to manage Cash Activity

• Experience in Collections

• Excellent attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
