    We have an exciting position open within Caterpillar seeking an Accountant to join Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP Division) Finance Team. This position will be responsible for the financial accounting processes and analysis for two US legal entities that utilize SAP. RIOP is a dynamic global division consisting of a portfolio of prime products, components, and services that meet the needs of clients and customers through manufacturing, engineering, design, commercial, and support teams located globally.

    In this role you will regularly use your strong analytical & robust problem-solving abilities to properly track and account for the entity's activity. This position will be regularly exposed to a variety of accounting functions, accomplish a high level of complex and/or technical analysis, and make business decisions and recommendations as appropriate. This role will also encourage you to demonstrate and develop your communication, business partnering and collaboration skills.

    What you will do:

    • Financial analysis of entity trial balance and completion of account reconciliations

    • Research and resolve discrepancies including, but not limited to, unmatched GRIR research of aging receipts and/or invoices, non-standard shipments (aftermarket and field services on Lot sales), etc.

    • Inventory record accuracy and resolution of issues

    • Ad Hoc requests connected to Sales/COGS analysis, inventory value add analysis, preparation of journal entries

    • Completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes, including government surveys

    • Business partner with RIOP product groups and facility Finance teams to gain knowledge of businesses

    What you have:

    • Education Experience: Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, finance or business-related degree

    • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

    • Decision Making & Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

    • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

    • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time

    • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

    Top Candidates Will Also Have:

    • Professional Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or equivalent

    • MBA, master's degree in accounting, or equivalent

    • CGM SAP experience

    • Prior experience with or willingness to learn tools such as Axiom, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $95,640.00 - $143,520.00

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
