Accountant I

Job Description

The Staff Accountant - ArcBest is responsible for general ledger accounting, preparation of financial statements, financial analysis, account reconciliations, forecasting, planning, and other special projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze forecasts, preparing periodic reports that compare forecasted costs to actual costs.

• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.

• Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, and expenses to provide advice.

• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

• Prepare, examine, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

• Report to management regarding the finances of establishment.

• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree Accounting or related field, preferred

• Experience in accounting, preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Details

• Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

• This is a salary position paid biweekly.
