Reporting to the Academic Director of the Online BA and MA Psychology Programs, the Academic Program Specialist will play a key role in managing daily program operations, coordinating student advisement, and representing the program at various events. Flexibility for occasional evening and weekend hours may be required. This is an anticipated vacancy expected to begin on or around January 2, 2025.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Academic Program Specialist will be responsible for the following duties:
Assist with administrative matters and program operations.
Maintain changes to institutional information, admission requirements, new programs, course changes, deadlines, college-wide initiatives, transfer requirements, and state and federal mandates.
Serve as a resource and administrative contact for staff and faculty on all matters related to the online Psychology Programs.
Manage program communication to students and faculty.
Manage updates to program website and print materials, including the student handbook.
Create supporting documentation and standard operating procedures for new initiatives, as needed.
Serve as informed admissions contact for prospective students and assist with the admissions process, including communication with applicants and onboarding of newly admitted students.
Facilitate the orientation processes for undergraduate and graduate students.
Support graduate students with registration matters, tracking progress toward degree completion, academic standing, and other matters, as needed.
Assist with coordinating events for current students, as well as prospects for the BA and MA Psychology Programs.
Support program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, retention, and other projects as assigned.
Create and maintain database of faculty files and program documents.
Participate in end-of-semester academic review and perform needed follow-up with students/student records.
Develop and maintain relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Until further notice, work will be performed in a hybrid manner with 70% onsite presence.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
2-4 years of experience providing administrative support in a higher education setting.
Detail oriented, with the ability to address concurrent issues and adapt easily to changing priorities.
Experience providing academic advisement and/or admissions assistance to students.
Enthusiasm and demonstrated commitment to students, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications, particularly Excel; ability to easily learn new software.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Participates in the daily coordination of academic and administrative activities of a College's specialized academic program under management direction.
Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
May supervise office operations and/or department budget
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary commensurate with education and experience with a salary range of $75,465 - $86,645.
