8-15 Year Catastrophic Injury Attorney

Description

A firm that handles high-end, high-stakes, catastrophic personal injury matters is seeking to add an attorney with 8-15 years of experience to their team. This unique firm never handles more than 15 cases at a time. They only take on massive injury cases with multi-million dollar settlements. Catastrophic injury and wrongful death are the majority of cases, but the firm also handles some business litigation and product liability cases.

Responsibilities of Role

o Every person in the office knows everything about every case. Any attorney in the office should be able to handle what is going on.

o Trial preparation: though "we don't get to trial that often. The cases are high exposure. It's a big risk to try them."

o Legal research & writing: motions in limine, discovery motions, dispositive motions, MSJs, etc.

o Depositions & court appearance

o Client management & outreach

*** Pay is contingent upon the experience above. Bonuses are extremely lucrative.

Requirements

HARD SKILLS

• California personal injury experience is required, biz lit experience is nice-to-have

• Depositions experience

• Strong legal writing skills (must have drafted multiple MSJs before)

• 8-15 years of civil litigation experience in California

• Ability to commute to downtown San Diego daily

SOFT SKILLS

o Motivated, ambitious, an achiever mentality

o Creative thinker, not just works off template

o Someone who does their research on the firm before interviewing - not just the website - but the attorneys and their verdicts
