Job Title: 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Candidates will be working in a 4-bay shop where they service all garbage trucks. This job focuses on preventative maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, tire balancing, wheel seals, wheel bearings, minor hydraulic and electrical work, and body work. This isn't your typical mechanic shop; the building was rebuilt about 3 years ago and is well-maintained. They ensure the trucks are cleaned out before performing maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform necessary repairs and inspections to maximize safe and productive operations.

• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.

• Complete inspections, diagnose and repair engines, hydraulics, suspension, steering systems, and brake systems.

Essential Skills

• Experience in heavy truck diagnostics and repair including diesel engines, electrical, suspension, steering, air brakes, and hydraulics.

• 2+ years' experience performing PMs, working on diesel trucks, or heavy equipment.

• Must own their own tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience with refuse equipment is a plus.

• Preferably have a Class A CDL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70000.00
