Using the Cloud to Work with Files Anywhere

Administrative and clerical workers are the heartbeat of any good company. You're the one who helps the company run smoothly by talking to clients, organizing meetings, and providing support for other workers in the office. Using cloud computing to store and access files from any location is one way to make your job a little easier.

Cloud computing is essentially a virtual server where you can store files relating to various projects. When you need to access those files, you can log into the system with your username and password, download documents, edit those documents, and save the finished files. Not only can you access those files from any computer in the office but you can also gain access through your home computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Administrative workers will also find that cloud computing makes undertaking simple tasks a little easier. How many times have you looked at the work in front of you and wished that you had someone to help you out with the smaller jobs? Cloud computing encompasses more than just storage¾it also lets you share work with people from around the world. Workers can log into the system and complete tasks and jobs for a small amount of money. As each person only views a small part of a larger project, you won't compromise the safety or security of that project.

While some companies find that hiring freelance workers to do simple tasks is a smart business plan, others focus more on the cloud storage side of things. Dell announced plans in 2013 to cease its cloud offerings, which paved the way for Hitachi Data Services. HDS encourages its customers to create a cloud computing program that meets all of their needs. Unlike other companies, which give customers a certain amount of storage space for files, HDS will offer a program where customers pay a certain amount for storage, letting you only pay for the storage space you need. The company lets customers back up files to its remote hard drive, store those files as long as they need, and access those files at any time. With this type of cloud storage, you'll pay a monthly fee based on the amount of storage you use.

The providers of cloud technology want to make life easier for anyone working in the administrative or business field. Why pay for expensive external hard drives or increase the internal hard drive or work computers? If those devices burn out or suffer any damage, you might lose years of hard work. With cloud computing and storage, you can save time by breaking bigger projects into smaller jobs for workers outside your company and keep all of your important files stored in a secure space where any qualified worker can reach them.
