To retain highly qualified men and women in today's Armed Forces, the Army has instituted Operation "Blue to Green."
Instead of leaving the armed services after your tour of duty ends, Operation Blue to Green lets you continue to serve your country in another branch of the military—offering you additional career options. You'll maintain the benefits of military service and expand your horizons through new training and a new MOS.
Here's how it works. Qualified active duty Air Force and Navy personnel can transfer to active duty in the Army. Your current branch of service must be willing to release you from your active service obligation. Selected members of the United States Marine Corp or Coast Guard, who are otherwise qualified, may also be eligible for opportunities in the Army; however, Marines and Coast Guard must complete their current term of active service. Opportunities exist for commissioned officers, enlisted personnel and selected cadets from the Air Force and Navy.
To qualify, you must be physically fit, meet Army height and weight standards, have at least three years of service, and an approved DD Form 368. Army Recruiters are currently accepting applications, processing paperwork, and training seats are being reserved.
