Should you start your own business?
These days with the economy in rough shape and many people still looking for jobs, there has been a rise in small business owners. More and more people who can't find good jobs are turning to freelancing and consulting gigs.
Still, venturing out on your own can be risky. The question has always been about comparing the risk of starting your own business to the risks of staying at your current job or working for a large company. In the past, it has always been safer to work for a company. The benefits of working for yourself were far outweighed by the security of having a dependable paycheck.
These days, the game has changed. Suddenly working for a large company doesn't give you any more security than working for yourself. In fact, it's more likely that you will devote years of your life working for a company and get laid off without much notice.
If you're struggling with the decision, here is an infographic that breaks it all down.
Starting a business isn't for everyone, but if you've been thinking about it, now might be the right time to start researching and making your dream come true.
Have you thought about working for yourself? Do you think it's a good idea? Why or why not? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
