Confirming your qualifications is usually the interviewer's way of letting you know you're a viable candidate on paper and have a genuine chance of landing the job, but other strong candidates are also being considered. The point of the job interview is to gain a deeper comparison of top candidates, so it's unwise to assume the position is already yours.
2. You Would Be Great for This Position
Hearing that you're a great fit for the job is like getting a gold sticker. In your mind, you may think the interviewer already sees you as a part of the team, and it's safe to let your guard down. Unfortunately, the hiring manager may be making a straightforward observation that you have the right experience and character for the job.
