Apple suing Samsung, claims they copied iPhone, iPad

Apple has filed a patent infringement suit against South Korea's Samsung Electronics claiming that Samsung copied the look and feel of its iPhones and iPads with its own smartphone and media tablet offerings. Apple and Samsung have always had a long-standing relationship. Samsung makes chips for Apple on a foundry basis, including A4 and A5 processors, and supplies Apple with LCDs, flash memory and other products. Some analysts believe that Apple has been quietly qualifying foundry giant Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. as a foundry partner. According to the report, Apple filed the suit against Samsung April 15 in U.S. District Court in Northern California. The suit specifically names Samsung's Galaxy S 4G, Epic 4G and Nexus S smartphones and Samsung's Galaxy Tab tablet, according to the report.
