A New Take On Solar Energy

This is a future project in Australia. It will be ready in 2012. This is a demonstration video of solar tower technology. This technology could be used to separate hydrogen from water. Hydrogen could then be used to fuel automobiles using fuel cell technology which uses hydrogen as fuel.

Among my friends this is no secret: I really want to see the future of flying cars, meals in pill form, groovy jet packs, and massive floating bio-satellites.

What we should all want – as a planet – is to be able to do all that without causing further damage to the planet. Use the massive amount of energy already open to us; solar, wind etc. Why not? It’s better than traditional power generation in every respect, and if it opens up hundreds of business opportunities, where’s the down side?

Thoughts?

Personally I think the biggest advantage of tapping? the sun's energy for the generation of electricity is that it greatly reduces our dependence on fossil fuels. It is estimated that the world's total energy consumption will increase by 30% in the following decade and hence developed nations are taking serious steps to enable the switch from conventional energy sources to renewable energy sources.
