Classes are over, graduation has passed and your credit score and bank account reflect years of paying tuition. You are now a full grown, responsibility laden adult. Congratulations! This can be a scary time for you, after all you have been in school since you were roughly 5 years old and now you're being shoved out into the working world with out a net. Well here are a few tips to help you through the transition.
The four food groups are actually grain, fruits and vegetables, dairy and meat. They are not pizza, cereal, beer and “whatever the stuff is in the fridge that doesn't smell bad.”.
Skipping your 9am lecture knowing the notes would be online later was ok. If you skip your 9am meeting there may be notes online later, but its because the new guy that took your job wrote them.
The office party is nothing like the frat party.
If you need an excuse for skipping work, you can only say your grandmother passed away once. Your workplace WILL remember, unlike your professor who you told your grandmother died once a semester for four years.
Not paying your rent is a bad idea. Your parents love you, your landlord loves your money.
Pajama pants are no longer accepted as day to day clothing.
If you are having people over, paper plates are not considered dinner wear unless you are eating outdoors.
Not finishing a project no longer effects your grades, it may however effect your ability to purchase food.
Casual Fridays still require basic hygiene and mandatory pants.
I hope some of these tips aid you in your transition from student life to responsible adult. Another thing that can assist in this transition is having a job to go to. Find one at collegejobbank.com.
