Out of all of the rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 release, here are the 5 most realistic.

There is so much hype surrounding the planned October release of the iPhone 5 that I thought it might be fun to sort out the rumors and pick out the ones that seem the most realistic. As with any product launch from Apple, there is always a great deal of attention and speculation from people in the Tech industry and those who are fans of the product.

So, here are the top 5 most realistic rumors about the iPhone 5 (in my opinion):

  • The iPhone 5 will have a bigger screen - I think this one is fairly likely. The biggest competition in the smart phone market is coming from the new Android devices, all of which have 4 inch screens. They make it easier for users to watch streaming video and play games and do all the things that people do with smart phones. Although I don't think that the iPhone 5 will be a complete re-design, I think it's probable that it will at least feature an edge to edge display.
  • A better camera - This one is a no-brainer. The iPhone 4 has a 5MP camera that does an excellent job, however, Android devices are coming equipped with 8MP cameras that can take photos in full HD. The latest rumors are that Apple will upgrade to an 8MP camera that shoots in 1080p HD.
  • The iPhone 5 will actually be iPhone 4S -This rumor is being spread around like wildfire, and I have a feeling that it's probably the most likely out of all of the rumors. Many people think that the next iPhone will keep the same design as iPhone 4 and only offer a few upgraded features, but nothing that would make people run out and upgrade to the new version.
  • More storage - This is almost something you can count on. Many are hoping that this new release will bring them a 64GB iPhone. Currently, iPhone 4 is being offered at 16GB and 32GB.
  • The new iPhone will have the A5 processor - This one is almost certain. Mainly because Apple seems to like to keep all of the iDevices on the same page. This would mean that the iPhone 5 will be twice as fast as the iPhone 4 without sacrificing any battery life.
Some of the other rumored improvements to the next generation iPhone is that it will have a metal casing instead of the glass. Although that rumor is one of the more popular, I'm not sure if Apple is going to be willing to let go of the new look of the iPhone 4. One thing you can count on though, is that the iPhone 5 won't have the same signal problem that the iPhone 4 had. It remains to be seen what Apple will come out with, but so far, the plans have been kept very secret and there have been surprisingly few credible leaks. No employees have left prototypes in bars or have been spotted with them. So, until the official release, all we can do is speculate.

What things do you think Apple will put on the iPhone 5? Do you think it will be enough to keep the Android devices from gaining on them? Let me know in the comments.
