Is Google Chrome Faster Than Lightning?

Posted by in Technology

The browser wars are heating up. In the tech arena, there is still a great deal of debate about which browser is the fastest. Is it Firefox, the apparent leader in the browser market? What about Apple's sleek and oh so sexy Safari? Or Opera, with the nifty built in speed dial? Or what about Google Chome?

Many sites have done speed tests to find the clear winner, and although they always seems to be met with mixed results, it seems like the fastest browser is Google Chrome. In speed trials against other browsers, Chrome hits the finish line first. But the question is- Is Chrome faster than lightning?
This video by Google Chrome attempt to find out.

I am so impressed. This has got to be the coolest browser speed test ever. So, I think it is time to write the Dear John letter I had been dreading:

Dear Firefox,

We have been together for such a long time. The past few years have been amazing. You have worked hard to protect me from viruses and spyware. You have been more than willing to let me customize our time together by allowing me to add an number of add-ons to make you perfect for me. You continually work to improve yourself. When I started looking around for your replacement, you added the way awesome bar and showed me that you were paying attention. When I first met you, I couldn't wait to tell all my friends. I wanted to shout my love from the rooftops.
But things change, and I have changed. I need more. I want faster and better. I never thought that I would have to say this, but here it is. I found a better browser and I'm leaving you. Maybe we can still be friends. There may be a time when I still need to use you occasionally when my needs aren't being met, but I think we are done. We had a good run.
Best of luck,
Melissa
