In this world that we live in, it is easy to become overwhelmed. From time to time, you wonder if you are in the right career. Or with the variety of manufacturing companies that exist, you might wonder if you are working for the right company. You might even second guess your choice on which college you attended. You might even wonder if you married the right person. If you let it, all of this can soon add up and put you into a state of being overwhelmed.

Rest assured there are some things you can do for FREE, that will help balance you out and help you live a less stressful and happier life. If you are seeking a job in customer service, this can help you take a more calm approach to finding the job of your dreams.

The first thing on your to do list is to take a “nap.” Naps are a wonderful tool to unplug from a hectic life for a short period of time. Maybe you did not get enough sleep the night before, or maybe you just need to recharge your energy level. Either way, a short siesta can be a wonderful way to let your body replenish its energy reserve. There is scientific evidence that proves a nap can boost your immune system. It can help to keep you healthier, more alert and happier. So when you need to take a nap, forget the “No Doze” pills, and take a brief snooze.

The next thing on your list to do for free is “dreaming.” According to neuroscientist Robert Stickgold, “Dreams are the brain’s way of processing, integrating, and really understanding new information.” When you go to sleep at night, after a long, hard and frustrating day, dreams can be a form of therapy. When you are able to dream about the challenges you encountered, often you will come up with solutions that will help you manage your feelings and emotions.

The next item on your list to do for free is “laughing.” The best kind of laughs are the long, hearty ones, although any kind of laughter will do. Some people say laughter is, “jogging for the brain.” It keeps you feeling relaxed and happier. Have you ever noticed how easy it is to get to know someone when you are able to share a few laughs together? It can be a form of bonding that works with people of all ages and all backgrounds.

The final thing you can do for FREE that will help you live a less stressful and happier life is, “sighing.” An article in The Week magazine reports that “under stress, our breathing becomes less variable from breath to breath, which makes the lungs stiffer and less effective at exchanging gas.” But a sigh shakes up the system and “acts as a general re-setter of the respiratory system,” says study author, Elke Vleminckx.

So, there you have it in four easy things you can do for FREE, that will help you live a happier, less stressful life.
