Can Windows Phone 7 Compete In The Smartphone Race?

I checked -- it was actually more than three years ago that I first began to address rumours about Windows Phone 7; apparently leaked photos, mock up images and artist interpretations of how dazzling the new operating system would be, and so on.

And now, finally, it's here. And you know what? It looks almost exactly like everyone thought it would.

But the real question on everyone's mind is, of course: Is it too late for Windows Mobile (now re-branded as 'Windows Phone') to be taken seriously in the ever-changing, ever-growing smartphone market?
