5 Of The Stupidest Employees In 2011
Funny ways that people lost their jobs.
This year has been a tough one for the workplace. So many people are out of work and looking for jobs that you would think that those who are lucky enough to have a job would be working hard to hold onto them. Although that's probably true across the board, there have still been some really dumb employees who lost their jobs this year.
Just for laughs, here are 5 stupid employees of 2011 (surprisingly, not all of them lost their jobs):
Making a bomb threat - An elementary school teacher in Denver, Co didn't want to go to work. Instead of calling in sick or taking a personal day, she decided to leave a note warning that there was a bomb at the main entrance of the school. She was found out and suspended from her job. In addition, she was charged with one count of false reporting of explosives, which is a felony.
Running a pharmacy - Over three dozen employees at a Boeing Co. plant were arrested for allegedly selling illegal prescription drugs. The medication for sale included oxycodone and Xanax. After an internal investigation, the company reported the conduct to Federal authorities. There is no information about what happened to the workers after the investigation.
Fast food ponzi scheme - A Taco Bell manager in California was in trouble after an employee accused her of forcing employees to pay up to $100 a paycheck in order to keep their jobs. If the employees didn't pay up, the would be fired without notice. When the assistant manager got tired of paying up, she was fired. She sued the manager for back wages and damages.
Stealing from the dead - A cemetery worker in Wisconsin was accused of stealing a Fender Telecaster guitar from a casket. He was reported by a co-worker who saw the guitar in plain sight at the employee's house. After being questioned by the police, the employee said that he doesn't typically steal from the deceased, but he is a collector of musical instruments.
And last but not least -
Stay off the lawn - An Oregon man reported seeing a postal worker defecating on a neighbor's lawn. After watching him, the man took photos of the behavior and reported the incident to authorities. The postal worker was able to keep his job but was re-assigned to a different route.
I hope these gave you a laugh and that you have a very happy new year!
